The Circuit, Irvine

Value - £10m | Client - Ashleigh (Scotland) Ltd

Regeneration development benefiting the local community with all-weather sports and leisure facilities.

The scheme included a full-size 3G outdoor pitch for football, a 9-a-side 3G indoor pitch to allow all-weather training, a 750 metre cycle track, changing facilities, and car park. This new community sports facility was procured via Hub South West for North Ayrshire Council.

The development delivers significant regeneration benefits for Irvine through the provision of all-weather sports and leisure facilities, and is a massive asset to both the local community and the wider North Ayrshire area.

The facility, operated by KA Leisure, received backing from Scottish football’s governing body, the Scottish Football Association (SFA), and benefited from funding from the Council, Scottish Government Vacant and Derelict Land Fund, European Regional Development Fund and the Landfill Tax Credit Scheme.

The name The Circuit came from consultation with schools, community groups and staff and reflects the site’s former use as a dog track and new use as a sporting venue.

The new facility was officially opened by Scottish Women’s National Football Team player, and World Cup star, Erin Cuthbert.
