St John Henry Newman School, Peterborough

Client - Eco Modular Buildings Ltd

A modular-built 630-pupil Catholic primary school in Peterborough.

The school, which is the first state-funded Catholic school in England for more than 10 years, features electric vehicle  charging points on site, dedicated design, technology and art rooms, an on site kitchen and a vast playing field.

The building was made up of 109 modular sections, constructed off-site by Eco Modular Buildings before being transported to site for installation.

We provided transport, pre-planning, geoenvironmental and flood risk advice to Peterborough City Council and Eco Modular Buildings.

Supporting the Council’s bid to be carbon neutral by 2030, using modular construction has decreased waste, reduced working time on site and reduced site traffic in the local area.

Welcoming reception, year one and year two students in September 2022, the school fully opened in 2023 offering places to 630 pupils, with 90 in every year group.
