King’s Tower, Sheffield

Client - SFGE (Properties) Ltd

A new 40-storey PRS tower, set to be the highest building on Sheffield’s skyline.

King’s Tower is a new 40-storey, high-rise residential block located in the centre of Sheffield.

Supporting the regeneration of the area, the PRS tower is to be constructed on a tight city centre site, with basement levels extending below the adjacent buildings. The development involves demolition of the existing building on the site.

Designed by award-winning architects Hodder+Partners, the tower will include commercial accommodation at the basement, ground and mezzanine levels, with residential accommodation above consisting of 428 co-living units.

Due to the height and geometry of the building the scheme will require a full wind tunnel analysis to provide wind loading data for the design of the building and also for pedestrian comfort levels in the areas around the building.

Work on the tower is due to commence in summer 2024.
