Our specialist services:
Timber engineering
We have significant experience in the new build, conservation and refurbishment of a wide range of projects where our specialist timber engineering skills contribute to the success of projects.
Timber engineering is an evolving discipline and is at the forefront of Modern Methods of Construction, bringing a wide range of benefits to the industry and to the environment. Incorporation of many aspects, such as the use of panel wall construction, floor cassettes, pre-serviced elements, roof modules etc, enables rapid construction programmes to be achieved. With the bulk of the manufacture being executed in factory conditions, these methods help us achieve high-quality production and improved health and safety statistics for the industry.
Our role in timber engineering includes the provision of structural designs on new build projects to timber frame manufacturers and suppliers. Our work also extends to the appraisal of existing timber frame buildings, often of historic interest.
Members of the team have membership of the Structural Timber Association, and are skilled in the design of traditional timber frames, along with Structural Insulated Panel construction methods and glulam structures.
Our experience is predominantly working on new builds and extensions in the residential, student accommodation, healthcare and education sectors. We have delivered designs for a number of eco-friendly, modular education buildings for our client NetZero Buildings.
