Multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy, Clancy Consulting, announces the relocation of its head office to central Manchester.
Following 50-years based in Altrincham with the last 24-years at Dunham Court, the business is relocating to one of Manchester’s most sustainable offices, Windmill Green on Mount Street. Taking c.7,700 sq ft of Cat A refurbished space within Manchester’s very first BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ rated multi-let building, the 65-strong team will be on the move at the end October.
Marking an exciting next chapter for the business, the office relocation follows the announcement earlier this year of Chris Acton taking on the role of CEO and his leadership plans to shape the future of the consultancy firm.
With the lease now signed to occupy the fourth floor of Windmill Green, Claremont has been appointed for the design and delivery of the workplace fit-out. Following a period of internal employee consultation, a fit-out brief was developed to help facilitate a new way of working with a key emphasis on people wellbeing. A raft of collaboration areas, social break-out spaces, quiet study zones, plus a dedicated multi-faith room, are currently being implemented to create a bespoke collaborative workplace environment.
Clancy’s CEO, Chris Acton, commented “Investing in our new head office workspace is a significant step forward for the business and by relocating into the heart of the city we’re keen to benefit from the buzz of activity that Manchester offers. We see this move as beneficial in our ability to better service clients, to welcome potential new recruits into the Clancy family due to the benefits of its central location and to create a vibrant new workplace that supports cross-discipline collaboration, while introducing new facilities which support the heath and wellbeing of our team.
“Following the major redevelopment of Windmill Green back in 2019, the impressive sustainability credentials and focus on wellbeing for its occupiers played a large part in the final decision in the office selection, due to these fundamentally supporting our purpose and principles as a business.
“We’ve a busy few months’ ahead preparing for the move however we look forward to throwing the doors open to celebrate our arrival with a party on the rooftop terrace with our industry friends and colleagues.”
Clancy’s head office team provides core services of civil and structural engineering, building services engineering, geoenvironmental, building appraisals and pre-planning services, and is one of ten offices across the UK.
Colliers is advising Clancy Consulting on the acquisition.
