To work effectively as a Senior Electrical Engineer, you must establish yourself as a key leader in the team, fully using your leadership and mentoring skills to develop and guide junior engineers and maintain excellent customer relationships. Additionally, you must lead projects to ensure resources are allocated effectively and projects are delivered on time.

Role and responsibilities

  • Use knowledge of electrical building services to educate quality designs (i.e., HV/LV Power, Lighting, Emergency Lighting, Lighting Control, Fire Alarms, Communication Systems, Lightning Protection, Security and Access Control etc.).

  • Manage your resource pool to ensure successful outcomes.

  • Carry out project design from commencement to completion.

  • Manage junior Engineers and Technicians.

  • Support junior Engineers in carrying out project design.

  • Offer leadership, mentoring and motivation to junior engineers.

  • Carry out Professional Development and maintaining records in accordance with CIBSE requirements.

  • Carry out thorough site investigations, complete inspections, identify issues and solve problems.

  • Ensure designs meet required standards following our Integrated Management System.

  • Review Electrical Design constraints and coordination.

  • Communicate with team members, clients, and other construction professionals about projects.

  • Represent the company at design team meetings with clients and other construction professionals.

  • Understand the fee and resource profile of the project to effectively deliver from a commercial aspect.

  • Understand and implement the principles of Building Regulations, client net zero carbon requirements, BREEAM and LEED sustainability accreditation schemes.

Software capabilities

  • Revit, AutoCAD, Trimble, Relux and BIM Environment.

  • Office 365.

Qualifications

  • Professional registration and working towards Chartership with IET / CIBSE.
