Director promotion at Clancy’s Birmingham office

Multi-disciplinary engineering practice, Clancy Consulting, has announced the promotion of Scott Lydon to director.
Joining the consultancy back in 2016 as divisional director, Scott has been growing the local Birmingham office and presence across multiple sectors in the Midlands during this time. His promotion will see him join the Board and assist fellow Birmingham director, Mike Powers, in strategically developing the office.
As a building services engineer with a background in both contracting and consulting, Scott brings a skilled design and delivery approach to his projects. Over the years he has been critical in establishing a healthcare presence within the Midlands region, most recently working on the UK’s first veterans only rehabilitation centre at Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt Hospital in Oswestry. In fact, a wide variety of building types have crossed Scott’s desk at Clancy including a classic car storage facility at the British Motor Museum, a flagship brewery incorporating a visitors’ centre and entertainment space for Charles Wells & Co. in Bedford and a state-of-the-art research facility for nuclear fusion testing.
Scott commented, “During my time at Clancy, I have learnt to recognise the critical importance of people and relationships and, subsequently, how this drives a supportive and trusted business. I’m a strong advocate of working collaboratively, in an inclusive manner, and feel very privileged to find myself amongst a team of passionate and forward-thinking directors and senior management with the same mindset.
“Whilst the business is currently celebrating 50-years of providing creative engineering solutions across the UK, we’ve always one eye on the future to ensure a sustainable legacy for our clients and local communities. This is what drives the culture of Clancy and I relish my years ahead in the business.”
