Delivering bespoke technical solutions at The Factory

Clancy Consulting is working with Farrat to deliver bespoke technical solutions at The Factory in central Manchester.

This exciting project is a new arts and culture venue situated on the old Granada Studios site, and is surrounded by eight railways lines, two high rise towers and two major A roads – presenting a number of vibration and acoustic challenges to overcome.

Our structural engineering specialists have worked with Farrat to design anti-vibration and acoustic isolation solutions for the scheme. Farrat has exclusively manufactured the acoustic bearings on site which, once installed, will provide an acoustically isolated connection between large precast concrete panels and underlying steel supporting structures.

Clancy Consulting Chief Executive, Martyn Headley, said: “Our collaboration with Farrat over the last five years has seen some 35 commissions to date across a range of projects. It is a true partnership we are both delighted to be a part of.

“The Clancy and Farrat teams work closely together to arrive at innovative solutions on each and every project and, over time, we have seen an incredibly strong relationship develop which has yielded fantastic projects we are both incredibly proud of. The Factory is just one example of this.  The combined expertise is clearly greater than the sum of the parts.

“The combination of Clancy’s bespoke structural design input, coupled with Farrat’s technical expertise in the design and supply of antivibration and acoustic provisions means we jointly provide a niche and uniquely high value offer, vital to the overall success on projects.”
