Oliver Matthews has joined the Clancy Norwich office as Divisional Director to strengthen the civil and structural engineering team.

Bringing with him over 20 years’ experience in the engineering consulting sector, Oliver has previously worked at Arup, Pick Everard and Canham Consulting and, most recently, he served as Technical Director at Pinnacle Consulting Engineers in Norwich.

Throughout his career, Oliver has gained extensive experience across a diverse range of public and private projects spanning various industry sectors, including commercial, industrial, energy, retail, education, manufacturing and logistics, and hospitality. Some of his notable project highlights include a 20MW data centre building in London and the UK’s first automated and refrigerated storage facility for home deliveries, commissioned by the country’s largest retailer. He has also been engaged on several blast and jet fire wall and building over-cladding schemes, working alongside ballistic specialists.

Demonstrating exemplary leadership skills, Oliver is dedicated to developing and empowering the team around him and fostering collaborative working relationships.

Having started his educational journey at City College Norwich he is looking forward to returning in a professional capacity due to the ongoing work Clancy is delivering on the campus. The team has been engaged on several schemes at the College, previously on the award-winning Digi-tech Factory, and currently on a new construction skills centre which has recently been submitted for planning.

Greg Scott, Director at Clancy, welcomes Oliver to the team stating, "His arrival is timed perfectly as we advance our growth strategy, reinforcing our capability to provide specialist civil and structural engineering services in the East Anglia region. With Oliver's extensive expertise, we anticipate significant benefits for our entire team and we extend our best wishes for his successful career with us."
