Senior Structural Engineer, Liverpool

Are you a Chartered/Nearly Chartered Structural Engineer?

Due to our ongoing success, we have a great opportunity for a Chartered/Nearly Chartered Structural Engineer to accompany our team on a wide variety of interesting and challenging projects. You will have a large involvement in both new build and refurbishment projects, working from early planning to end delivery phase.

Role and responsibilities

• Undertake nationwide structural surveys and produce clear and concise reports on structural integrity and building condition issues.

  • Prepare calculations and sketches to support report conclusions and recommendations. Knowledge of current Eurocodes and British Standards expected.

  • Experience in producing NBS would be advantageous.

  • Undertake a thorough review of site investigation data and identify conditions and provide solutions as appropriate.

  • Have a clean driving licence and be willing to travel and stay away from home , on average two nights a week . Mileage , hotel, and sustenance expenses will be paid.

  • Use of basic CAD preferable but knowledge of 3D design software not essential.

  • Undertake designs for building refurbishments and new build projects, including foundation and superstructure works.

  • Represent the company at design team/ client meetings.

  • Manage, encourage, support, and motivate junior Engineers and Technicians ..

  • Undertake appropriate Continuing Professional Development and maintain CPD records in accordance with the requirements of the Institution of Structural Engineers .

  • Membership of the Institution of Structural Engineers essential

  • Recognise the importance of clear communication with all members of the design and/or construction team regarding matters of structural safety, and keep up-to-date with information provided by CROSS (Collaborative Reporting for Safer Structures (see www.cross-safety.org/uk).

  • Undertake Business Development for the benefit of CCL.

Software capabilities

  • AutoCAD, Tekla, and Revit.

Education Requirements

  • BSc/BEng or equivalent degree from an ICE approved course.

  • Chartered Membership of the Institution of Structural Engineers and/or the Institution of Civil Engineering.
