Electrical Engineer, Glasgow
Location - Glasgow
Our successful team in Glasgow require an Electrical Engineer to accompany them on a wide variety of interesting and challenging projects.
Role and responsibilities
Prepare design calculations and drawings with little supervision of a Senior Engineer.
Use knowledge of electrical building services to educate designs (i.e., HV/LV Power, Lighting, Emergency Lighting, Lighting Control, Fire Alarms, Communication Systems, Lightning Protection, Security and Access Control etc.).
Review of Electrical Design constraints and coordination.
Use knowledge of relevant standards and guidance to influence electrical designs
Support Senior Engineers in carrying out the project design from commencement to completion.
Manage CAD/Revit Technicians.
Communicate with team members, clients, and other construction professionals about projects.
Represent the company at design team meetings with clients and other construction professionals.
Offer leadership, mentoring and motivation to apprentice and graduate engineers.
Work towards your chartership with the support of your mentor and colleagues regularly and systematically.
Ensure designs meet required standards following our Integrated Management System.
Keep up to date with the CPD requirements within the IET/CIBSE.
Carry out thorough site investigations, complete inspections, identify issues and solve problems.
Take ownership of individual tasks and projects.
Understand the principles of Building Regulations, client net zero carbon requirements, BREEAM and LEED sustainability accreditation schemes.
Software capabilities
Revit, AutoCAD, Trimble, Relux and BIM Environment.
Office 365.
Qualifications
HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent certified Electrical Engineer.
