Associate GeoEnvironmental Consultant, Manchester
Location - Manchester
We have an exciting role in our GeoEnvironmental department to lead, develop and grow our current team across the business.
Our successful team in Manchester require an experienced GeoEnvironmental professional to support them on a wide variety of interesting and challenging projects.
Role and responsibilities
Preparation of tenders, bids and fee proposals.
Management of projects with good commercial awareness and financial control.
Plan and manage project resources.
Supervise staff under your direction and offer pro-active advice in relation to problem solving issues.
Undertake and arrange effective mentoring of employees under your direction.
Ensure technical quality of own and team’s work in accordance with good engineering practice, relevant standards, Codes of Practice, current design methods and Health & Safety legislation.
Ensuring deliverables meet the client’s needs and are provided cost effectively and to an exemplary standard.
Represent the company at design team meetings when required.
Engage in business development, client and third-party liaison successfully leading to enhanced reputation, new and repeat work.
Qualifications and skills
A Degree in (typically) geology or geoenvironmental science / engineering.
A member of a relevant professional body, ideally working towards Chartership.
Full familiarity with UK land contamination policy, practice and guidance documents.
Ideally a minimum 10 years’ experience working in a UK consultancy working environment for private and public-sector developers and operators, on a range of development / infrastructure project.
Excellent commercial understanding of environmental consultancy procurement and project execution.
