Are you interested in joining our Manchester Team to become an Apprentice Civil/Structural Technician?

Our successful team in Manchester require an Apprentice Civil/Structural Technician to accompany them on a wide variety of interesting and challenging projects.

Role and responsibilities

  • Plan and assist in the delivery of technical and design information in completing each stage of a project.

  • Produce simple design calculations and CAD drawings in a form that can readily be checked by another member of staff.

  • Prepare detailed estimates and produce information on quantities and types of materials required for the safe construction of projects.

  • Assist the team to manage the flow of information within agreed timescales.

  • Work as part of a larger team to deliver projects.

  • Monitor the progress of technical aspects of construction work and report any potential issues to the Senior Structural/Civil Engineer.

  • Ensure the correct and timely recording, filing and storage of information.

  • Follow instructions from senior staff but be confident enough to ask for explanation if and when required.

  • Complete your time sheets in an accurate and timely manner.

Software capabilities

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 GCSE/N5 (or equivalent from other Exam Boards) passes at Grades of 5/B and above (including Maths and English) and preferably a Grade 6/A in Maths.

  • Possess a genuine passion for solving technical problems.

  • Show demonstrable interest in construction, engineering, and new technologies.
