Barry has been part of the Clancy family since graduating in 1988. It’s safe to say that he quite likes it.
A structural engineer with overall responsibility for the civil and structural department in Liverpool, he’s proof of Clancy’s commitment to support staff progression and development, working his way up from a fresh-faced graduate to board director.
With over 30 years’ experience, he has particular expertise with steel frame designs for high-rise buildings and heavy industrial projects, too. He also heads up the company’s internal Technology and Innovation Group, which proactively investigates the latest emerging technologies, such as AI and virtual reality.
Barry firmly ascribes to Clancy’s people-before-profit approach. In his experience, when you look after your people, the inevitable outcome is good work for good clients.
Family life keeps Barry busy and happy; beyond socialising with friends and family, he grabs any chance he gets to go on long walks with his wife and their pet dogs.
