This year we have strengthened our senior management team with promotions across the business, including at Board level.
In April of this year Chris Acton joined the Clancy Board of Directors, along with Jane Milligan, who became the first female Director, and also the first non-engineer to join the board.
Chris has been with Clancy Consulting for nearly 10 years, and recently returned to our Manchester office, having played a pivotal role with the business’ venture into the Middle East.
Chris has now assumed a key role leading the Structural Engineering team in Manchester.
“I was delighted to be asked to join the Board following my secondment managing our Middle East office. These are exciting times for Manchester and the North West, and I am thrilled to take up this role and build upon our strong position within the industry.” Chris Acton
Jane leads the HR function for the business, having joined in 2002 to establish the role, and also chairs the North West Region of the Technical Apprenticeship Consortium, a subject about which she is particularly passionate.
“The invitation came as a delightful shock, but one that I accepted without hesitation. I have always felt involved in the Clancy business from the very start and my collaboration with the Board has increased over the years. With our different skills we make a great team.” Jane Milligan

Nick has been with the business for 10 years and has built up the department from the outset to the current team, providing specialist services directly to clients across the UK, frequently supporting our other core services.
In our Liverpool office, James Gendall was also been promoted to Divisional Director, in the structures team. James has been with the business for over 10 years and has played a leading role in the technical advancement of the office, resulting the in delivery of a number of high profile projects.
In the business support team, Lucy Cunnah became Finance Director and Company Secretary, having joined the business 12 months prior as Head of Finance. Lucy continues working with the accounts team and managing the finance function, adding great value and support across the business.
And finally, in our Building Services team in Reading, Andrew Childs became an Associate. Over the last four years, Andrew has successfully contributed to building the team and client base in the South East.
“Chris and Jane joining the Board brings additional skills that will strengthen its capability, whilst also recognising the significant and important contribution that both have made to the business.
