This development will see a National Speedway stadium in 2016 and new leisure facilities and a National Basketball performance centre in 2015. The facilities will provide numerous sports and leisure opportunities for the local community, as well as hosting major sports events.

The redeveloped leisure centre will also include badminton, netball, cricket and volleyball facilities and will continue to provide a sports hall, dance studio, fitness suite, school changing rooms and a classroom.

A range of facilities are being developed including: modernisation of the existing Belle Vue Leisure Centre, the National Speedway Stadium, National Speedway Academy, 2,000 capacity National Basketball Performance Centre and two 3G all-weather artificial grass pitches.

The Stadium will be the new home of the Belle Vue Aces Speedway team (BVA) with hospitality and exhibition areas. Allowing for a maximum capacity of 6,000 attendees, and incorporating a 1,800-seater grandstand the stadium has the latest built-in noise-reduction measures and will be built to international league standard. Additionally the facility will incorporate a brand new Academy and act as a centre of excellence, nurturing the next generation of riders.

As part of the developments there will also be a new Basketball Performance Centre which will offer playing opportunities to all ages of the community as well as being a hub for England Basketball’s National Teams. The facility will include three state of the art courts and a retractable spectator capacity to seat up to 2,000 people.
