Ground-breaking 50th Anniversary Project with British Salt

British Salt has unveiled a series of ground-breaking projects in its 50th anniversary year. Including a £7.2m best-in-class energy efficient boiler plant at its Cheshire-based Middlewich site, which has just secured planning permission.
Clancy Consulting are providing Civil, Structural and GeoEnvironmental services on the plant which will generate heat and electricity for the company’s 24-hour production process.
Scheduled to become operational in March 2020, the project represents the largest single investment in the company since its inception.
Since British Salt started production in 1969, they have made around 30m tonnes of high purity vacuum dried salt. 2018 was an exceptionally busy year as they continued to invest millions of pounds into facilities to ensure the business was in great share to deliver for customers over the next fifty years and beyond. 2019 heralds a major milestone in future-proofing plant investment initiate, with further unprecedented high-profile investment in the site and its people.
