The Engineer as Expert Witness, Lecture by Brian Clancy
Article posted on: 28th April 2017
Clancy Consulting attended former Senior Partner Brian Clancy’s lecture, The Role of The Expert Witness, earlier this week. The well-attended and very interesting evening lecture, hosted by The Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) Midland Counties Regional Group, was held at the University of Birmingham.
During the lecture, Brian guided attendees through the various aspects of acting as an Expert Witness, drawing on his own experiences, offering an insight into Expert Witness cases and what one may expect to encounter along the way. This talk considered the matter from the point of view of the Expert Witness and was based on 40 years’ experience of fulfilling the role and how the position of the Expert Witness has changed over the years.
