Over 2,000 Student Accommodation Beds Provided in 2016

Following our recent attendance at Property Week’s Student Accommodation Conference 2016, it is a good time to reflect on what an excellent year it has been for Clancy Consulting working in this sector with our great clients and design team members.

We have delivered and are delivering student accommodation for several leading end user providers/developers across the UK. Our schemes offer students high-end living facilities with all the latest amenities and facilities, which provide an exemplar student experience. Our schemes range from one bed accommodation with shared living facilities through to individual self-contained living units with private dining areas and en-suite bathrooms.

This year to date we have consulted on over 2,000 student accommodation beds across the UK, with more projects in the pipeline to be commenced this year and next. With a reported shortfall in purpose built accommodation for students (The Guardian 2015) this is a thriving sector of which we have many years experience in, we are also honored and delighted that our clients entrust their schemes with us.

The schemes this year have included Liberty Point, Southampton, Liberty Park, Coventry, Liberty Quay, Southampton, Liberty Point, Manchester, Liberty Park, Cardiff and Liberty Bridge, Cardiff.

We are also pleased to advise another client entrusting their projects with us – London and Scottish Student Housing, where we are consulting on an office block refurbishment delivering 355 beds in Sheffield.

One of our larger projects this year is the on-going 772-bed Godiva place in Coventry for Regents Godiva. We are delighted to have provided consultancy services for the MEP services on this large development (pictured) in conjunction with expert student accommodation architects Lewis and Hickey.  In addition to providing beds for students attending higher education in Coventry this development also provides residents with a full suite of facilities, including car and cycle parking and a social hub for residents.
The scheme is a mixed studio and cluster arrangement, enjoying 10% on site renewable contribution, high speed data and WiFi and interior designed rooms and amenity spaces to enhance to student experience.
