Saltcoats Town Hall, North Ayrshire
Clancy was appointed to provide Mechanical and Electrical Consultancy Services for the refurbishment and restoration of Saltcoats Town Hall, for North Ayrshire Council.
This £3.6m scheme saw the renovation of the semi-derelict Grade B Listed building, requiring major conservation and restoration works. The project brief was to return the Town Hall to its former glory and re-establish it as the civic and heritage focal point of Saltcoats and The Three Towns.
The project also involved an extension which included a substantial mezzanine floor being inserted within the former main hall, allowing the upper hall and its historic features to be retained. This allowed the ground floor to be converted into modern climate controlled high density office space, with new electrical, security, fire alarm, and IT systems throughout. The new space included comprises a main hall, meeting rooms, office accommodation, community rooms, social hub and ancillary spaces.
The MEP installations were replaced in their entirety and are in keeping with the listing and architecture heritage of the building.
Now complete, the scheme includes modernised offices and workspace for the Council, along with stunning historic venue available to for hire for weddings and special occasions.
The refurbishment was part funded by Historic Scotland and was completed in 2017.
