Flatt Road, Largs
This £20m residential scheme for North Ayrshire Council consists of 122 units, including supported accommodation and a sheltered housing complex, and will incorporate a community hub.
Situated on a former school site, this is a HUB South West project being led by Ashleigh (Scotland) Ltd. We are an approved consultant under the HUB South West framework and are part of the design team for Ashleigh (Scotland) Ltd.
The structural engineering services covered the design of the timber framed single and two-storey housing, sheltered accommodation blocks, flatted units, along with all detailed design drawings and SER Design Certificates for Building Warrant Approval purposes. The ground floor was an in-situ suspended concrete slab and the superstructure was timber frame construction per client requirements.
The civil engineering service included design of the road, drainage system and providing detailed drawings for submission to North Ayrshire Council & Scottish Water. Technical Approval was obtained from Scottish Water for the drainage system and North Ayrshire Council granted Roads Construction Consent Approval.
Designed by MAST Architects, this ambitious and exciting development embraces modern technologies, such as voice controlled lighting and heating systems and offers many health and wellbeing benefits. Sustainability features highly on the scheme, including a biomass district heating system, to benefit all residents.
