Callander Medical Centre, Perthshire
This is a multi-use health building which brings together local GP practices, NHS Forth Valley and the local council.
Facilities include GP rooms, multi-function meeting and health education rooms, community resource (library & computer suite), training room, podiatry, physiotherapy, and community day care.
The building was planned to take advantage of the panoramic views towards the mountains. Light shafts bring natural daylight in to the heart of the building and help foster a feeling of wellbeing.
The layout of the building was such that distribution runs for services were very restricted. Both engineering disciplines worked side-by-side to ensure the structure was compatible with the building services requirements.
A very attractive, sustainable building was completed to a high standard of workmanship and has proved to be a successful focal point and valuable addition to the community infrastructure.
