Amberley Road Development, London
Clancy provided civil and structural engineering services to Bouygues UK for this mixed-use scheme, comprising two new buildings on one site.
The first is a 6 storey structure, containing 47 luxury residential units with balconies overlooking the Grand Union canal.
The second is a new primary school, ARK Atwood Primary Academy, and adult education facility for Westminster Adult Education Service.
A basement car park was constructed below both structures using sheet pile system.
This is one of a number of projects we recently completed, implementing BIM to Level 2 with 3D models using collaborative systems for clash detection and coordination.
This project brought all members of the design team together, amalgamating the Architectural, MEP and Structural model into one 3D environment, creating a virtual 3D replica of the end product.
Working in this collaborative environment with a longer lead time, meant clashes were identified earlier in the design. Builders work holes and elements were plotted through the structure and any clashes could be identified and corrected in 3D.
The residential element achieves Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4, and the school element of the scheme achieved BREEAM Very Good status.
