Neil is a Main Board Director based in Scotland, responsible for the day to day running of the MEP and Sustainability teams in our Glasgow and Prestwick offices.
Neil has a broad background in MEP and sustainability engineering and has worked at principal level across many sectors including education, healthcare, commercial, industrial, hospitality, retail and residential. Neil is also a qualified BREEAM AP.
After leaving school Neil served an apprenticeship as an electrician before moving into the design offices of a Local Authority in Scotland. During this time he attended University on a part time basis whilst still working and graduated with an honours degree from Glasgow Caledonian University in 1998. After graduating Neil moved into the private sector and worked for two national MEP consultancies before spending 14 years with a national multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy, 11 years of which was at Partner level leading the Glasgow office. Neil joined Clancy as a Divisional Director in 2015 becoming a Main Board Director in 2019.
Neil believes in taking a pragmatic approach and is keen to get involved at an early stage on projects to influence the design and ensure effective and efficient integration and optimisation of the MEP and sustainability engineering solutions with the building envelope and structure.
Away from work Neil enjoys a number pastimes including travelling, football, cars and music, both playing the guitar (not very well!) and watching live bands.
