X1 The Tower, Liverpool
We are providing Civil and Structural Engineering Consultancy services for this £74M mixed use development scheme by Vermont Developments, adjacent to the city centre and close to the Kings Dock Development.
This scheme occupies a site at the junction of Sefton Street and Parliament Street, adjacent to the waterfront in Liverpool. This residential development is just a 5 minute walk from the popular Albert Dock area and only a 10 minute walk from the popular Liverpool One shopping district.
The impressive scheme incorporates five separate building blocks set around a central access road and public plaza space. Once complete the scheme will boast a total of 709 apartments, delivered over five phases, with car parking, leisure and communal facilities.
Beneath the vast majority of the site is a part single/part two storey car park basement structure, resulting in the access road being of suspended construction. The scheme provides 256 car parking spaces. Two of the blocks will contain a mix of residential apartments and town house accommodation over seven storeys.
Along Sefton Street there is an eight-storey residential block above commercial usage at ground floor. At the corner of Sefton Street/Parliament Street there will be a twenty-two storey residential tower with commercial space at the lower levels. There is a glazed link at the ground floor from the tower to a nine-storey hotel fronting Parliament Street.
We first became involved with the The Quarter development back in 2005 and we are delighted to have been involved in all five phases.
