Road Culverts, Abu Dhabi

We were engaged with a project that involved the transportation of 126 abnormal loads, a distance of 150 miles from Abu Dhabi docks to the Shah Gas development on the northern edge of the “Empty Quarter”.

Fifty-six of these loads were 2000 tonne High Power Absorbers, which required strengthening works to existing highway structures along the route, and the formation of temporary structures within the central median to bridge four of GASCO’s main gas pipe lines leading to Umm Al Nar Power Station at Abu Dhabi docks.

We were appointed by the contractor to liaise with the client EN Saipem, GASCO and the Abu Dhabi Department of Transport with regards to technical issues and undertake a Resident Engineer role during the works.
