Danesgate House, Lincoln
Clancy Consulting were part of the design team, which included lead designer OMI Architects supporting our client Mansion Group, on the redevelopment of the student accommodation block, Danesgate House in Lincoln.
The 255-bed, five-floor scheme consisted of a recladding of the building envelope, full internal refurbishment, the installation of new LED lighting and controls and many other passive / active energy conservation measures to reduce the buildings carbon footprint.
The project has recently been presented with the Best Building Award at The Lincoln Good Design Awards. The awards were held at the local Guildhall and saw winners named in many different categories, as well as the overall winner – the newly refurbished Danesgate House student accommodation block on Clasketgate.
The long-list for the awards was drawn up by the City of Lincoln Council from schemes approved by the planning committee and council offices. The awards were judged for the projects positive contributions to the city.
Stephen Howe our Director responsible for this sector commented; “This project is a great example of how good design has a positive impact on a city and the buildings users. We are very proud of this scheme and our involvement and to be recognised by the city is a great honour”.
