Colwyn Bay Development, Conwy County Borough Council
Clancy Consulting are providing professional services at a development which will provide new office accommodation in Colwyn Bay town centre, as well as the redevelop of an existing Grade II listed civic building to the east of the town.
The £39m development which is being funded by M&G Investments, will see a new four-storey, BREEAM excellent rated office building for Conwy County Borough Council. The new building will accommodate about 750 staff in 100,000 sq. ft. and replace up to 13 existing offices, where over 350 staff were based.
This development forms part of the council’s modernisation programme as well as supporting the regeneration of the town. Bringing people to the heart of Colwyn Bay will bring vitality, footfall and an anticipated additional spend in the town of up to £1m by people using this new building.
Demolition of the existing town centre site has taken place and construction works is currently underway having commenced in April 2017, the site is set for completion in October 2018.
Clancy Consulting are working for client Cushman and Wakefield to provide a monitoring service of both the civil and structural and mechanical and electrical engineering.
