Charles Wells Brewery, Bedford
Clancy Consulting were appointed as M&E Service Engineers on the project, as well being responsible for a wider infrastructure project for the local Council that involved extensive infrastructure provision for future plot developments.
The client requirement for the build was to provide a new build Brewery processing facility with attached office, entertainment and retail space and external seating area which would centralise Charles Wells as a business with the being their flagship site.
The client also had a desire to integrate sustainability within the design. This included the design of a PV system, a rainwater harvesting system and electrical vehicle chargers to contribute to the overall sustainability of the project.
Being part of the wider infrastructure scheme for the overall site enabled us to add value to this project. As the Brewery is the first development this was considered in the overall site planning strategy and infrastructure provision for future developments has been considered.
For this project, we developed our M&E design using Revit to BIM Level 2 which enabled us to work collaboratively with the Architect and Structural Engineer to produce the design tender package to RIBA Stage 4a for Contractor pricing.
