Clancy Norwich team speaks to Eastern Daily Press about marking its 50th anniversary in style

This year marks the golden anniversary of Clancy Consulting – and the achievement is being celebrated by setting an ambitious fundraising target aligned with the company’s social value ambitions to support its local communities.

All 10 UK offices are embarking on adventurous fundraising activities throughout the year.

At the Norwich office, the team will undertake an impressive 50km summer coastal walk from Great Yarmouth to Cromer. Then, later in the year, a charity 10-pin bowling night will take place where clients and industry partners can compete for the coveted Clancy Bowling Trophy, all in the aid of Norfolk charities.

CEO Martyn Headley said: “We are delighted to be a key player in the region and our success is being recognised for providing cutting-edge engineering solutions to all of our clients far and wide.

During the past 10 years, our capabilities in the east have increased significantly, mirroring the sustained growth of the company across England and Scotland.”

Over the past year the Norwich office has expanded its team, in part, to support the recent demand of leisure sector schemes.

The proposed Norwich City Football Club Recovery Hub project is a state-of-the-art development currently in progress which will provide specialised facilities for players recovery and training, including swimming pool, Hydroworx 2000 pool, hot and cold baths and sauna.

A key element of the project was the design of the superstructure. Sustainability and mindfulness are at the forefront of the planned design, which uses biophilic principles. Timber glulam has been chosen as a natural alternative to more traditional construction methods to increase occupant connectivity to the natural environment.

Working collaboratively with LSI Architects, the team has developed a structural solution which will complement the architectural design…

…Martyn concludes: “Obviously, celebrating our 50th anniversary with a legacy of many great projects is special. However our attention is firmly fixed on the future!”
