The Norfolk Constructing Excellence Awards 2021 took place on Tuesday 20th April 2021, celebrating the best construction projects and businesses in the region.

All winners were revealed during a virtual ceremony online, and we were thrilled to accept two awards.

The Off-site Award was received in recognition of the new nursery building at Norwich Road Academy in Thetford, where we supplied complete design solutions including Civil, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering services. This eco-friendly, modular building was assembled by our client NetZero Buildings, and has a solar panel roof and negative carbon emissions.

We're also taking home the SME of the Year Award. Rising to the challenges the last 12 months has presented has, in many ways, brought our 10 regional offices closer together with greater collaboration and the removal of geographical constraints due to home working. The result has reinforced ambitions to provide pioneering engineering solutions, alongside the latest construction techniques. Locally in Norwich workload continues at pace due to strong client relationships and an expanding team, we're currently working on a number of exciting local projects including The Digi-Tech Factory at City College Norwich and Great Yarmouth Market Place redevelopment.

Greg Scott, Director of the Norwich office, said, “We’re delighted and proud to have won both of these awards. Our Norwich office has been going from strength to strength, increasing our workload year on year, on the back of really strong relationships with local clients and fellow professionals in Norfolk and East Anglia.

“Like everyone, we have had enormous challenges over the last 12 months with the pandemic, although in many ways it has worked to bring together our ten office across the UK.  We feel that there has been even greater collaboration than ever before, which helped us to realise our ambitions to pioneering engineering solutions, working on the latest construction techniques and focusing of fantastic sustainable solutions benefiting our local communities and beyond.

“We have had some incredible projects coming through the office and it’s been an incredible year in that respect.

“I would like to thank my fantastic team in Norwich, without whom this wouldn’t be possible.”

Our winning entries are automatically submitted to the National Constructing Excellence Awards, which we look forward to later this year.
